Review of Linux Compatibility

The LiteOn IHOS105-37 is an internal Blu-Ray drive with SATA 150 connection. It reads Blue-Rays with 4x speed (17.980 KB/s) and DVD with 12x speed (16.620 KB/s).

The drive is automatically recognized under Linux (e.g. at least since Ubuntu 12.10) and needs at least Linux Kernel-Version 2.6.32 to work properly:

ata1.00: ATA-7: Hitachi HDS721616PLA380, P22OABEA, max UDMA/133

Otherwise, the initialization of the drive will fail with the following error message:
