Review of Linux Compatibility

The TP-Link TL-WN751ND is a PCI WiFi network card that bases on an Atheros chipset. The card has the PCI ID 158c:0301 and is fully supported by the Linux kernel (e.g. Ubuntu 13.03):

04:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Atheros Communications Inc. AR9227 Wireless Network Adapter [168c:002d] (rev 01)
Subsystem: Atheros Communications Inc. Device [168c:0301]
	Kernel modules: ath9k

The card gets recognized automatically and the necessary kernel module ath9k is loaded automatically

ath: EEPROM regdomain: 0x809c
ath: EEPROM indicates we should expect a country code
ath: doing EEPROM country->regdmn map search
ath: country maps to regdmn code: 0x52
ath: Country alpha2 being used: CN
ath: Regpair used: 0x52
ieee80211 phy0: >Selected rate control algorithm 'ath9k_rate_control'
Registered led device: ath9k-phy0

If kernel version older than 3.3 are used the kernel module can cause a freezing of system if a WiFi connection has been established. This bug has been solved in kernels later than version 3.3.
