Review of Linux Compatibility
The Asus MyCinema P7131H is a hybrid PCI card that supports DVB-T as well as analog TV. The card is supported by the Linux Kernel. The analog TV tuner is activated automatically by the kernel, while the DVB-T tuner needs a firmware file (if not already part of the Linux distribution).
The card can be identified in the following way:
05:01.0 Multimedia controller : Philips Semiconductors SAA7131/SAA7133/SAA7135 Video Broadcast Decoder [1131:7133] (rev d1) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Device [1043:4876]
The DVB-T modulator needs the firmware file dvb-fe-tda10046.fw for operation. This file can be installed in Ubuntu (e.g. Ubuntu 12.10) per apt-get:
sudo apt-get install linux-firmware-nonfree
Alternatively, the firmware can be downloaded as part of the firmware package http://rehost.splurben.com/linux_dvb_firmware_v2.tar.bz2 and has to be cofied to the directory /lib/firmware:
sudo cp dvb-fe-tda10046.fw /lib/firmware
Afterwards, the card is initialized automatically after booting:

An infrared remote is provided together with the C7131H. This remote is also supported by Linux via LIRC, but at least Linux kernel version 2.6.22 is required.
The configuration of LIRC for this remote is described at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1905166&p=11590929#post11590929.
