The Terratec Grabster AV400 is connected per USB and has the USB ID 0ccd:0039

It has to be distinguished ExpressCard version which has nearly the same except for the addition “mobile”.
The USB version is fully supported by the Linux kernel at least since version 2.6.39. The Grabster AV 400 needs the firmware files v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw, v4l-cx25840.fw, and v4l-pvrusb2-24xxx-01.fw located in the folder /lib/firmware/. These files can be found at http://dl.ivtvdriver.org/ivtv/firmware/ and copied to /lib/firmware/, if not already included in the Linux distribution.
