Review of Linux Compatibility

The Tandberg 8781-RDX is a Tape Drive which is connected via USB 3.0.

With kernel versions 4.2 or later, simply plug the USB-3.0 cable in the USB port. Warning: the device has a white and blue connection. If only the white port is connected only power is supplied to th drive but the Linux kernel will not see the hardware until the blue connection is used (with USB 3.0).

Insert a cartridge (which is a sort of hard disk) and then format it as hard disk and simply backup your data. The speed of the device is good: between 100 and 150 MB/s.
