Review of Linux Compatibility

The Epson AcuLaser C1700 is a USB Color Laser Printer with USB ID 04b8:001c

Bus 002 Device 007: ID 04b8:001c Seiko Epson Corp.

Although the C1700 is automatically recognized by the Linux kernel:

there is no driver Linux provided by Epson. Instead, one can use the Xerox Phaser 6000/6100 driver, which is compatible with the AcuLaser C1700. This 32-bit driver is available as Debian “.deb” file, which can be downloaded as
