Review of Linux Compatibility

Several cheap USB soundcards (e.g. the Hy553) and also several USB headsets use the JMTek chipset with USB ID 0c76:1607:

Bus 003 Device 004: ID 0c76:1607 JMTek, LLC. audio controller

The device is automatically recognized by the Linux kernel:

usb 4-1.5: new full-speed USB device number 9 using ehci-pci
usb 3-1.4: New USB device found, idVendor=0c76, idProduct=1607
usb 3-1.4: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=1, SerialNumber=0
usb 3-1.4: Product: USB Headphone Set
