Review of Linux Compatibility

The RCWARE RX2SIM (see RCWARE homepage) is a USB receiver for remote controls and allows to use all types of remote controls as input device, e.g. for flight simulators.
It provides 3 possible connection modes: USB, 3.5mm stereo jack, or external receiver (e.g. external 6-channel RC receiver from Spektrum, see photo).

The receiver has the USB ID 0483:a0eb

Bus 003 Device 008: ID 0483:a0eb STMicroelectronics

and is automatically recognized by the kernel as an Human Interface Device:

usb 3-3.3: new full-speed USB device number 8 using xhci_hcd
usb 3-3.3: New USB device found, idVendor=0483, idProduct=a0eb

It can therefore be used under Linux as game controller without further driver configuration.

The RCWARE RX2SIM receiver can be used with Linux R/C flight simulators like CRRCSIM. Under Ubuntu, this simulator can be installed by

sudo apt-get install crrcsim

It was also successfully used under Linux with the R/C helicopter flight simulator Heli-X.
