Review of Linux Compatibility

The Logitech H600 is a wireless headset, which communcates with the PC over a USB receiver. This receiver has the USB ID 046d:0a29 and is shown by the Linux kernel in the following way:

Bus 001 Device 008: ID 046d:0a29 Logitech, Inc. H600 [Wireless Headset]

The headset gets initialized automatically:

usb 1-1.4.3.3: USB disconnect, device number 5
usb 1-1.4.3.3: new full-speed USB device number 8 using ehci-pci
usb 1-1.4.3.3: New USB device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=0a29

hid-generic 0003:046D:0A29.0007: input,hiddev0,hidraw1: USB HID v1.11 Device [Logitech Logitech Wireless Headset] on usb-0000:00:1a.0-1.4.3.3/input3

and can be fully used under Linux afterwards

card 1: Headset [Logitech Wireless Headset], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

For some Linux users it was necessary to once use the headset under Linux in order to pair it with the receiver by using the Windows software provided by Logitech. Afterwards, the headset could be also used under Linux without further configuration.

Due to a bug in old versions of the X-Server the graphical user interface can crash if the USB receiver is plugged in. This error is solved in latest version of the X-Server.
