Review of Linux Compatibility

The Acer Aspire E1-572 has to be used with an up-to-date Linux kernel (e.g. Ubuntu 14.04 with kernel version 3.12er or later). Older kernel versions (e.g. Ubuntu 13.10 with kernel version 3.11) do not support the Ethernet port of the E1-572.

The Notebook does not correctly shut down under Ubuntu 13.10, instead it is necessary to keep the power on/off button pressed until the Acer Aspire E1-572 completely powers off. However, the shutdown works if Ubuntu 14.04 or later is used.
