Brother DS-820w (Scanner, A4, WiFi)
Review of Linux Compatibility
The Brother DS-820w is a compact DIN A4 document scanner, which is ideal for mobile operation due to its small dimensions. The scanner can be connected via USB and WiFi and does not necessarily need a power supply cable thanks to its integrated battery. The DS-820w is fully supported under Linux. Linux drivers are provided by Brother at for download as DEB and as RPM files.
For scanning, one needs Sane installed on the Linux system, which can be achieved under Ubuntu by:
sudo apt-get install sane-utils xsane xsane-common
Afterwards scanning with the DS-820w is possible with xsane or with the simplescan program.
