Review of Linux Compatibility

The TP-Link MA260 is a USB stick for mobile internet. The stick supports GSM, GPRS, UMTS, EDGE, HSDPA, WCDMA, HSUPA, and HSPA+ connections.

The TP-Link MA260 is supported under Linux since kernel version 3.8.13.7 (see corresponding kernel patch. The kernel modul qmi_wwan is used as a driver.

At the beginning, the stick has the USB ID 2357:f000, but the stick needs to be swichted to USB ID 2357:9000 for mobile internet access. This switch is achieved by the following usb_modeswitch command

usb_modeswitch -v 2357 -p f000 -V 2357 -P 9000 -W -I -n -M '5553424312345678000000000000061e000000000000000000000000000000' -2 '5553424312345678000000000000061b000000020000000000000000000000'

Afterwards the stick has the USB ID 2357:9000
