Brother ADS-1600W (Document Scanner, Duplex, WiFi)
Review of Linux Compatibility
The Brother ADS-1600W is a compact documenten scanner, shich can be connected via USB but also via WiFI. The scanner is fully supported under Linux thanks to the brscan4 Linux driver, which is available at the Brother homepage for download. The driver is provided as DEB and as RPM file.
Additionally, on needs Sane installed on the Linux system, which can be achieved under Ubuntu by:
sudo apt-get install sane-utils xsane xsane-common
After the installation of the brscan4 driver one can scan documents on the ADS-1600W e.g. with xsane or with the simplescan program.
