The HP Photosmart 6520 is a all-in-one printer with included scanner. The device is fully supported under Linux by the hplip printer drivers provided by HP.
At least the driver version 3.12.9 is needed to use the HP Photosmart 6520 with this driver. Several Linux distributions are supported by the driver (e.g. Debian, Fedora, Ubuntu, SuSE, LinuxMint, RedHat).
Under Ubuntu this driver is installed by:
sudo apt-get install hplip hplip-gui
