Review of Linux Compatibility

The Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE (SB0570L4) is a PC sound card, which is automatically recognized by the Linux kernel:

01:00.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs CA0106 Soundblaster

and fully supported by the alsa drivers since version 1.0.11rc2 (i.e. Linux kernel 2.6.16-rc1):

*-multimedia
       description: Multimedia audio controller
       product: CA0106 Soundblaster
       vendor: Creative Labs
       physical id: 1
       bus info: pci@0000:05:01.0
       version: 00
       width: 32 bits
       clock: 33MHz
       capabilities: pm bus_master cap_list
       configuration: driver=CA0106 latency=64 maxlatency=20 mingnt=2 module=snd_ca0106

If there is no analog sound output hearable, it might be necessary to mute the digital output. In this case the channel “IEC958″ needs to be muted in a mixer program (e.g. alsamixer).
