The HP Officejet Pro 8610 is a all-in-one printer, which is supported under Linux by hplip printer and scanner drivers, which are provided by HP.
At least the driver version 3.14.4 is needed to use the HP Officejet Pro 8610 with this driver. Several Linux distributions are supported by the driver (e.g. Debian, Fedora, Ubuntu, SuSE, LinuxMint, RedHat).
Under Ubuntu this driver is installed by:
