Review of Linux Compatibility

The ZTE MF 667 is a USB mobile broadband modem, which supports connections via HSPA+, HSUPA, HSDPA, UMTS (2100/850 MHz), EDGE, GPRS, GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz). Furthermore, it has in Micro SD Slot, which can be used for micro SD cards with up to 32 GB.

The device has been seen in a broad variety of implementations, with at least the following USB IDs:

In addition to the MMC storage memory device (for the internal SD card) a Ethernet device is created, by the “cdc_ether” kernel module. This device allows to connect to the stick over the network via a web browser and configure the ZTE MF 667 (similar to the configuration of the network router).

The connection provided by the ZTE MF 667 is not very stable and several Linux users complain about connection losses while using this device (see bug report).
