Review of Linux Compatibility

The Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D is a PCI Express sound card with PCI ID 1102:0012:

02:00.0 Audio device [0403]: Creative Labs Device [1102:0012] (rev 01)
Subsystem: Creative Labs Device [1102:0013]
Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel

Supported for this card is included in the Linux kernel since version 3.5 and improves continuously:

$ uname -r
3.5.0-17-generic

$ cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [Creative ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Creative
HDA Creative at 0xf7b04000 irq 16

For example, the Recon3D has been successfully used under openSUSE 12.3.

However, the Linux support of the card is not stable yet. Not all functions of the card are supported by the driver. Especially under 64bit Linux systems the reliability of the driver is currently still low.
