Review of Linux Compatibility

The Logitech M510 is a wireless USB mouse, which communicates with the PC via the Logitech Unifying Receiver. This receiver has the USB ID 046d:c52b:

Bus 003 Device 004: ID 046d:c52b Logitech, Inc. Unifying Receiver

and is automatically recognized under Linux.

If several Logitech devices shall be managed or the battery level of the M510 should be indicated, it is recommended to use the program Solaar. This program is currently not part of the Ubuntu distribution, but can easily be installed from its repository by using the package management system:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:daniel.pavel/solaar
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install solaar

Alternatively, the source code of the program can be downloaded from its GIT repository: https://github.com/pwr/Solaar.
