Review of Linux Compatibility

The Asus Sabertooth 990FX in revision R2.0 is a ATX mainboard with AM3+ socket. The mainboard is supported under Linux, but is only usable under Linux if “UEFI” and “Secure Boot” are deactived in the BIOS (see corresponding bug).

Gigabit Ethernet

The on board Ethernet is automatically supported by the r8169 kernel module:

r8169 Gigabit Ethernet driver 2.3LK-NAPI loaded
r8169 0000:0a:00.0: irq 98 for MSI/MSI-X
r8169 0000:0a:00.0 eth1: RTL8168f/8111f at 0xffffc9000418c000, 11:22:33:44:55:66, XID 08000800 IRQ 98
r8169 0000:0a:00.0 eth1: jumbo features [frames: 9200 bytes, tx checksumming: ko]

Sound

Onboard sound is fully supported by the snd_hda_intel kernel driver:

input: HDA ATI SB Line as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.2/sound/card0/input12
input: HDA ATI SB Rear Mic as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.2/sound/card0/input13
