Review of Linux Compatibility
The Netgear WNA3100-100PES is a USB WiFi adapter, which exists in two different versions (V1 and V2). The version V1 has the USB ID 0846:9020
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0846:9020 NetGear, Inc.
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0846:9020 NetGear, Inc. WNA3100(v1) Wireless-N 300 [Broadcom BCM43231]
while the version V2 has the USB ID 0846:9011:
Bus 008 Device 003: ID 0846:9011 NetGear, Inc. WNDA3100v2 802.11abgn [Broadcom BCM4323]
Both versions base on the Broadcom chipset of the bcm43xx series, which is currently not supported by the Linux kernel.
The only way to use this stick under Linux is by using the Windows driver together with NdisWrapper. However, this solutions does not support draft-N/dual band connections. Only connections with 802.11b/g modus can be used. Therefore, the usage of the WNA3100-100PES under Linux is not recommended.
