Buffalo WLI-UC-GNHP AirStation (WiFi, USB 2.0 Adapter, 802.11n)
Review of Linux Compatibility
The Buffalo WLI-UC-GNHP is a USB WiFi stick with USB ID 0411:0158 and is recognized by the Linux kernel in the following way:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0411:0158 BUFFALO INC. (formerly MelCo., Inc.) WLI-UC-GNHP Wireless LAN Adapter
On older Linux kernels it sometimes is also shown as:
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0411:0158 MelCo., Inc.
The addition “HP” in the product name indicates that the stick is the “High Power” version and should not be mixed with the WLI-UC-GN version, which has the USB ID 0411:015d instead:
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0411:015d MelCo., Inc.
The WLI-UC-GNHP bases on the Ralink RT3070 chipset and is supported by the Linux kernel since kernel version v3.2 (2012-01-04) by the kernel module rt2800usb.
