Review of Linux Compatibility

The Pioneer BDR-207EBK is an internal Blu-Ray writer. It is automatically recognized and fully supported under Linux:

ata2.01: ATAPI: PIONEER BD-RW BDR-207, 1.21, max UDMA/100
ata2.01: configured for UDMA/100
scsi 1:0:1:0: CD-ROM PIONEER BD-RW BDR-207 1.21 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5

The firmware of the BDR-207EBK should be at least at version 1.30. Otherwise, there can be problems with the reading of media which have been burned with the same drive. The firmware files can be downloaded from the Pioneer homepage. However, installation of the firmware file needs a installed Windows.
