Review of Linux Compatibility

The USB stereo speakers S150 from Logitech are fully supported under Linux. The speakers are connected via USB and have the USB ID 1130:1620:

Bus 001 Device 006: ID 1130:1620 Tenx Technology, Inc.

The speakers are automatically recognized and initialized by the kernel:

usb 1-1.2: new full speed USB device using orion-ehci and address 6
usb 1-1.2: New USB device found, idVendor=1130, idProduct=1620
usb 1-1.2: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
usb 1-1.2: Product: USB AUDIO
usb 1-1.2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
input: USB AUDIO as /devices/platform/orion-ehci.0/usb1/1-1/1-1.2/1-1.2:1.2/input/input1
generic-usb 0003:1130:1620.0002: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.10 Device [USB AUDIO ] on usb-orion-ehci.0-1.2/input2

The kernel module snd_usb_audio is used as the driver to control the speakers.

The speakers can be used with ALSA as well as withPulseaudio. Eventually the S150 speakers need to be activated as audio output in the sound configuration of the Linux distribution.
