LifeTec LT 9452 (Scanner, 1200dpi, USB)
Review of Linux Compatibility
The LifeTec LT 9452 (USB ID: 05d8:4002) is a flat bed scanner whichuses the USB port for power supply and therefore does not need an exernal supply. The LT 9452 us supports resolutions up to 1200dpi and is compatible with latest Linux versions (e.g., kernel version 3.12). The scanner needs the kernel module xhci_hcd.
The LifeTec LT 9452 was distributed under the brands Medion and Tevion.

The driver gt68xx is needed for this scanner. This driver can be downloaded at: Medion/Lifetec/Tevion LT 9452 http://www.meier-geinitz.de/sane/gt68xx-backend/index.html and needs to be copied to /usr/share/sane/gt68xx/. The file has to be readable (possibly the rights of the file has to be changed).
Afterwards, the comment signs (#) have to be removed in the following rows of the file /etc/sane.d/gt68xx.conf:

Warning: The driver is in experimental state. If the scanner produces strange noises the scanning process has to be interrupted immediately.
The device uses the power supply of the USB port. It should only be connected directly to the PC or alternatively, a active USB hub has to be used.
