Review of Linux Compatibility
The Brother ADS-2100 is a duplex document scanner, which as an optical resolution of 600×600 dpi. The scanner is supported under Linux and can be used with Sane.
Drivers are provided by Brother on their homepage as rpm files and as Debian packages for 32- and 64-bit distributions. Furthermore, a Linux installation instructions is available.
Sane has to be installed on the system in order to use the drivers. This can be achieved under Ubuntu by the command:
sudo apt-get install sane-utils xsane xsane-common
After the installation of the brscan4 Brother driver one can use xsane or simplescan to scan with the ADS-2100.
Alternatively, commercial drivers are provided for the scanner by VueScan.
