Review of Linux Compatibility
The Silex SX-DS-4000U2 is a USB device server, which allows controlling USB devices over the network. Virtual USB ports are created on the PCs that communicate with the physical USB port on the device server. The Silex SX-DS-4000U2 is equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet port and two USB ports.
However, there is no Linux software for the client PCs that creates the necessary virtual ports compatible with the Silex SX-Ds-4000U2. Therefore, the device server can not be used under Linux to its full extend.
However, if a printer is connected to the Silex SX-DS-4000U2 printing over the network with the protocols LPR, RAW and IPP is possible.
