The sound card Asus Xonar U1 bases on the UA100 chip set and is connected per USB. The Sound card provides analog in- and output per 3.5 mm stereo jack as well as an S/PDIF output (optical, Toslink).
The sound card has the USB ID 0b05:1743
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0b05:1743 ASUSTek Computer, Inc.
and is controlled by the kernel module snd-usb-audio, which fully supports the sound card since ALSA cersion 1.0.21 or since Linux kernel 2.6.31, respectively.
