Review of Linux Compatibility
The DVB-S and DVB-S2 PCI-Express card TBS-6922 from TBS has the PCI ID 1131:7160 and is recognized by the Linux kernel in the following way:
02:00.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7160 (rev 03) Subsystem: Device 6922:0001 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 18 Memory at fd600000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M] Capabilities: <access denied> Kernel driver in use: SAA716x TBS Kernel modules: saa716x_tbs-dvb
The card is controlled by the kernel module saa718x_tbs-dvb:

Unfortunately the needed kernel module for the TBS-6922 is not yet integrated into the standard kernel (Ubuntu 12.04) and therefore has to be compiled by hand:
Driver and firmware can be fond at http://www.tbsdtv.com/download/#tbs6922.
The following packages are needed under Ubuntu to compile the modules:
apt-get install build-essential unzip linux-headers-`uname -r`
After downloading the driver package from the TBS Homepage, the file has to be extracted
mkdir tbs && cd tbs wget http://www.tbsdtv.com/download/document/common/tbs-linux-drivers_v120515.zip unzip tbs-linux-drivers_v120515.zip tar xfv linux-tbs-drivers.tar.bz2
The installation scripts for 64bit (tbs-x86_64.sh) or 32bit (tbs-x86.sh) platforms be found in the newly created folder linux-tbs-drivers/v4l/. Depending on the used platform the necessary scipt has to be executed:
cd linux-tbs-drivers/ ./v4l/tbs-x86_64.sh
The compilation is performed by the following command:
make && make install reboot
