Review of Linux Compatibility

The Zotac ZBOX AD02 is ideal for installing Linux on it. The small box can be used as desktop PC, if mainly office applications are envisaged. The Radeon HD 6310 graphic card is supported by Linux (e.g. Ubuntu 12.04). Therefore the Zotac ZBOX AD02 is ideal as a HTPC and streaming client, also in HD (ze.g. as Mythtv client).

Furthermore, the Mini-PC is a ideal server for the private network. The low power consumtion due to the energy efficient AMD E-350 processor (dual core) is sufficient for most applications while having small energy costs. The PC can be equipped with up to 8 GB RAM (1066 MHz NON-ECC, DDR3-800 So-Dimm) and has a internal 2,5″ SATA slot for the harddisk or SSD disk.
Due to the AMD virtualization technique AMD-V, which is supported by the E-350 processor, the Zotac ZBOX AD02 can also be used as a server for virtual machines without major performance reduction. But for such scenario the AD02 should be equipped with the maximum Jedoch RAM, i.e. 8GB, to have enouvh memory for all the running virtual machines.
